Ingredients
Main Ingredients
- 1 1/2 pounds ground beef (80/20 blend for best flavor)
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
Gravy
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 2: Prepare the Hamburger Steaks
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix until well combined, being careful not to overmix.
Form the mixture into 4-5 oval patties.
Step 3: Sear the Patties
In a large skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Sear the hamburger steaks for 2-3 minutes per side, until browned. Transfer the patties to a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 4: Make the Gravy
In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes to create a roux. Gradually whisk in the beef broth until smooth. Add Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Bring the gravy to a simmer and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until thickened.
Step 5: Bake
Pour the gravy over the hamburger steaks in the baking dish. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the hamburger steaks are cooked through and tender.
Step 6: Serve
Serve the Amish Hamburger Steak Bake hot, with plenty of gravy spooned over each steak. Pair with mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, or a side of vegetables for a complete meal.
Cook Notes
- Ground Beef: Use an 80/20 blend of ground beef for the best flavor and juiciness. Leaner ground beef can result in drier patties.
- Breadcrumbs: You can use regular breadcrumbs or panko for added texture. For extra flavor, use seasoned breadcrumbs.
- Gravy Consistency: If the gravy is too thick, add a bit more beef broth to reach your desired consistency.
Variations
1. Mushroom Gravy Hamburger Steak Bake
Add 1 cup sliced mushrooms to the skillet when making the gravy for a mushroom gravy version.
2. Cheesy Hamburger Steak Bake
Sprinkle 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese over the hamburger steaks before pouring the gravy on top for a cheesy twist.
3. Spicy Hamburger Steak Bake
Add 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes to the hamburger mixture for a bit of heat.
Serving Suggestions
- Mashed Potatoes: Serve with creamy mashed potatoes to soak up the delicious gravy.
- Buttered Egg Noodles: Pair with buttered egg noodles for a comforting and satisfying meal.
- Roasted Vegetables: Add a side of roasted carrots, green beans, or broccoli for a balanced meal.

I have been using Lottoland since the start of summer, so the honeymoon phase is well behind me. A friend recommended it for the lotto products, though the slots pulled me in too. The Lottoland catalogue is surprisingly large, mixing lottery betting with standard casino games.
Software comes from Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Evolution and Nolimit City. Sweet Bonanza and Gonzo’s Quest sit in the popular section, though the total count is lower than a standalone casino. What makes it different is the lotto side: results from lotteries around the world are covered, and the jackpot sizes can be staggering. Instant win titles round things off.
The introductory bonus at Lottoland varies by region: often a free bet plus some bonus funds. Deposit matches for the casino show up now and then, although the lotto side gets more attention. Current promotions and terms are worth checking on lottoland since they rotate regularly. Playthrough on the casino side is in the standard range.
The deposit floor is friendly: lottery entries start from a pound. The usual cards plus PayPal are accepted. Cashouts via e-wallet took under twenty-four hours, card payouts took a bit longer. Verification was straightforward — uploaded a driving licence and a bank statement, done in a few hours.
Mobile works through a dedicated app, and it loads quickly. Draw results appear as they happen, and the casino games play fine on mobile too. Support is available via live chat and email, replies come within a few minutes. Dual licensed, Gibraltar and UK, which gives proper regulatory backing. A reliable option for lottery and light casino play.

Useful information presented in a way that does not feel like a sales pitch, that is what I appreciated most, and a stop at alpinestoneoutpost was the same, no upsell and no fake urgency just steady content laid out properly for someone trying to actually learn from it rather than just be sold to.

Signed up at Lottoland since the start of summer, enough sessions to see how it actually works. Originally came for the lottery side, though the slots pulled me in too. The game library goes deeper than you would think, combining lotto draws with slots and table games.
Software comes from Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Red Tiger and a handful of others. Gates of Olympus and Starburst are both here, though the selection is not as vast as a pure casino site. The real draw is the lottery product: results from lotteries around the world are covered, including some enormous jackpot pools. Instant win titles round things off.
The sign-up deal at Lottoland depends on where you are: often a free bet plus some bonus funds. Deposit matches for the casino show up now and then, but the lottery offers are the main thing. Current promotions and terms are worth checking on lottoland before placing your first bet. Playthrough on the casino side is in the standard range.
Minimum deposit is low: lottery entries start from a pound. Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Paysafecard all work. Withdrawals to PayPal came through within a day, bank transfers ran the usual few days. Document check went smoothly — passport photo cleared within the day.
The app is available on both iOS and Android, and the interface is clean. Lottery draws update in real time, and the casino games play fine on mobile too. Support is available via live chat and email, response times are reasonable. Holds licences from Gibraltar and the UKGC, so there is genuine oversight. Worth considering if the lottery side interests you.

Signed up at Lottoland since the start of summer, so the honeymoon phase is well behind me. A friend recommended it for the lotto products, but ended up staying for the casino as well. The gaming section covers more ground than I expected, mixing lottery betting with standard casino games.
Providers on the casino side include Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Red Tiger and a handful of others. Sweet Bonanza and Gonzo’s Quest sit in the popular section, although it does not compete with dedicated casino platforms on volume. What makes it different is the lotto side: EuroMillions, PowerBall, MegaMillions and about forty others, including some enormous jackpot pools. Scratchcards and quick games fill out the rest.
The welcome offer here is region specific: typically a discounted first bet on a lottery draw. Deposit matches for the casino show up now and then, though the lottery promos are more frequent. Current promotions and terms are worth checking on lottoland since they rotate regularly. Rollover requirements are typical for the industry.
You can start with as little as a pound: a pound gets you into a draw, ten for the casino. Visa, Mastercard, PayPal and Paysafecard all work. Cashouts via e-wallet took under twenty-four hours, card withdrawals were two to three days. Verification was straightforward — passport photo cleared within the day.
Mobile works through a dedicated app, and the interface is clean. Draw results appear as they happen, and the casino games play fine on mobile too. The help team is reachable through live chat, replies come within a few minutes. Dual licensed, Gibraltar and UK, which gives proper regulatory backing. Overall a solid platform.
