2753 Views

Baked Mozzarella Onion Rings are a delightful twist on traditional onion rings, featuring a gooey mozzarella center wrapped in a crispy, golden breadcrumb coating. This baked version is lighter than deep-fried onion rings but still delivers all the flavor and crunch you crave. Perfect as a party appetizer, side dish, or snack, these onion rings are sure to be a hit with everyone. Let’s get started!

Table of Contents

Ingredients

  • 2 large yellow onions
  • 8 oz mozzarella cheese block
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 cups panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooking spray

Instructions

Prepare the Onion Rings

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
  2. Slice Onions and Cheese: Peel the onions and slice them into 1/2-inch thick rings. Separate the rings carefully, keeping them intact. Cut the mozzarella cheese block into slices about 1/4-inch thick, then cut each slice into strips that will fit between two onion rings.
  3. Assemble Onion and Cheese Rings: Take two onion rings of different sizes and nestle them together, leaving about a 1/4-inch gap between them. Fill the gap with a strip of mozzarella cheese. Repeat until all onion rings are filled.

Bread the Onion Rings

  1. Prepare Dredging Station: Place the flour in a shallow dish. In another shallow dish, whisk together the eggs and milk. In a third dish, combine the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Coat Onion Rings: Dredge each assembled onion ring in the flour, shaking off any excess. Dip into the egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off, then coat in the panko breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere. Place the coated onion rings on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake the Onion Rings

  1. Bake: Lightly spray the tops of the onion rings with cooking spray. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the onion rings are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  2. Cool Slightly: Let the onion rings cool for a few minutes before serving to allow the cheese to set slightly.

Cook’s Notes and Tips

  • Onion Size: Use large onions to make sure there is enough space between the rings to add the mozzarella cheese.
  • Breadcrumbs: Panko breadcrumbs are best for a crispy texture. You can also use Italian-seasoned breadcrumbs for added flavor.
  • Seal the Cheese: Make sure the cheese is snugly placed between the onion rings to prevent it from leaking out while baking.

Variations

  • Spicy Onion Rings: Add 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the breadcrumb mixture for a spicy kick.
  • Parmesan Onion Rings: Mix 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese into the breadcrumb mixture for extra flavor.
  • Air Fryer Version: Cook the onion rings in an air fryer at 375°F (190°C) for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

Serving Suggestions

  • Dipping Sauces: Serve with marinara sauce, ranch dressing, or garlic aioli for dipping.
  • Appetizer Spread: Pair with other appetizers like mozzarella sticks, chicken wings, or jalapeño poppers for a delicious party platter.
  • Side Dish: Serve alongside burgers, sandwiches, or grilled meats for a fun and cheesy side dish.

  38. Been using this casino for about five months now, enough time to see the real picture. A colleague mentioned it, mainly because I was looking for a platform with fast cashouts. The catalogue at Rolletto covers a lot of ground, even though most of my time goes on a dozen games.

Game supply is solid: Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Play’n GO, Hacksaw and Red Tiger. Book of Dead and Reactoonz sit near the top, although the crash games are surprisingly fun too. The live dealer area is Evolution, which means twenty-four hour coverage with English and Spanish speaking dealers. Betting on football and tennis is another option, handy for match days.

The welcome package here covers the first four deposits: deposit bonuses that stack up to a decent total. Playthrough is forty times the bonus amount, standard for a crypto-friendly casino. The live codes for this month are worth verifying at rolletto promo code 2026 since terms change regularly. Weekly cashback and tournament entries pop up regularly, meaning ongoing value if you stay active.

The deposit floor is low, around ten euros. Card payments work, although the crypto options are the quickest route: a dozen different coins. Crypto cashouts came through within hours, bank transfers ran a few days longer. KYC went smoothly — the whole thing was over in twenty-four hours.

On mobile I use the browser version and performance is solid. No app to install, so no storage concerns. Support responds in English on live chat and they are more helpful than most. They operate under a Curacao licence, so the usual caveats apply. What matters is the money arrives when you ask for it.

  39. I have been using this platform for about four months, enough sessions to see how it actually works. I found it because of the lottery betting, but ended up staying for the casino as well. The gaming section goes deeper than you would think, mixing lottery betting with standard casino games.

The casino side runs on games from Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Red Tiger and a handful of others. The top titles are easy to find, though the total count is lower than a standalone casino. The real draw is the lottery product: you can bet on the outcome of dozens of international lotteries, and the jackpot sizes can be staggering. There are also scratch cards and instant win games.

The sign-up deal on the platform varies by region: typically a discounted first bet on a lottery draw. Deposit matches for the casino show up now and then, though the lottery promos are more frequent. Latest offers and any active codes should be verified at lottoland before placing your first bet. Playthrough on the casino side is in the standard range.

Minimum deposit is low: a pound gets you into a draw, ten for the casino. The usual cards plus PayPal are accepted. Withdrawals to PayPal came through within a day, card payouts took a bit longer. Document check went smoothly — passport photo cleared within the day.

The app is available on both iOS and Android, and the interface is clean. Lottery draws update in real time, with the casino accessible from the same app. The help team is reachable through live chat, response times are reasonable. Licensed by the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner and UK Gambling Commission, which gives proper regulatory backing. Worth considering if the lottery side interests you.

Reguliert wird ueber Curacao, was man wissen sollte. Unterm Strich stimmt die Zahlungsmoral.

  46. Been playing at Revery Play Casino since around Easter, so the first impression stage is well past. A mate at work mentioned it, since I wanted better game variety. The game selection here is decent, enough variety to keep things fresh.

The games are supplied by Pragmatic Play, NetEnt, Play’n GO, Red Tiger and a few boutique studios. Sweet Bonanza and Gates of Olympus are front and centre, though I spend more time on the newer releases. The live tables run on Evolution, meaning all the major game shows and table games. Dealers are on twenty-four seven, though the cheap seats fill up after dinner.

The introductory package at Revery Play offers a matched deposit plus spins. Wagering is 35x, fairly standard for this market. Current offers and promo codes are worth looking at on revery play before depositing. There are weekly reload offers.

You can start from a tenner. The standard UK payment methods all work without issues. PayPal payouts arrived quickly, debit card payouts were the usual two to three days. Identity verification went smoothly — uploaded ID and it was approved overnight.

On the phone I play through the browser and loading times are fast. You play through the site, which honestly suits me. Support responds on live chat in English and the agents are helpful. Licence is Curacao, meaning no UK Gambling Commission oversight. The main thing is withdrawals have been honoured.
