Orange Roll Bake Recipe

 

This Orange Roll Bake is a sweet and zesty treat that combines soft, fluffy dough with a citrusy orange glaze. It’s perfect for breakfast or a dessert!

 

Ingredients:

 

For the Dough:

 

2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour

 

1/4 cup granulated sugar

 

1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

 

1/2 tsp salt

 

3/4 cup whole milk (warm)

 

1/4 cup unsalted butter (melted)

 

1 large egg

 

1 tsp vanilla extract

 

 

For the Orange Filling:

 

1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)

 

1/2 cup granulated sugar

 

Zest of 2 large oranges

 

2 tbsp fresh orange juice

 

 

For the Orange Glaze:

 

1 cup powdered sugar

 

2-3 tbsp fresh orange juice

 

1 tsp orange zest

 

 

Instructions:

 

1. Prepare the Dough:

 

In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

 

Gradually stir in warm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla. Beat until smooth.

 

Add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, to form a soft dough.

 

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

 

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

 

 

2. Prepare the Orange Filling:

 

In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, sugar, orange zest, and orange juice until well combined. Set aside.

 

 

3. Assemble the Rolls:

 

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a 12×18-inch rectangle.

 

Spread the orange filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.

 

Starting from the longer side, roll the dough tightly into a log.

 

Slice the log into 12 rolls and arrange them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.

 

Cover the rolls and let them rise for an additional 30-45 minutes, or until puffy.

 

 

4. Bake the Rolls:

 

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

 

Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

 

Let the rolls cool slightly while you prepare the glaze.

 

 

5. Prepare the Orange Glaze:

 

In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, orange juice, and orange zest until smooth.

 

 

6. Glaze and Serve:

 

Drizzle the orange glaze over the warm rolls and serve immediately.
