Add Vegetables and Bacon: Add the diced red onion, diced celery, cooked bacon, shredded cheddar cheese, and chopped fresh parsley to the bowl with the peas.
Make the Dressing: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sour cream, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper until smooth and well combined.
Combine: Pour the dressing over the pea mixture and gently toss until all the ingredients are evenly coated.
Chill and Serve: Cover the salad and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve cold.

Cook’s Notes and Tips

Pea Texture: Make sure the peas are fully thawed before adding them to the salad. You can quickly thaw them by running them under cold water and then draining thoroughly.
Bacon: For extra flavor, use thick-cut bacon and cook it until crispy. Let it cool before adding it to the salad to maintain the crunch.
Cheese: Sharp cheddar cheese adds a nice bite to the salad, but you can substitute it with a milder cheese if preferred.

Variations

Herbed Pea Salad: Add 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh dill or chives for an extra herby flavor.
Greek Yogurt Dressing: Replace the mayonnaise and sour cream with Greek yogurt for a lighter version of the salad.
Vegetarian Option: Omit the bacon and add diced red bell pepper for added crunch and color.
