A crowd-pleasing appetizer that combines the delicious flavors of Italy with a fun, easy-to-make format. Perfect for parties, game days, or family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound spicy Italian sausage, casings removed
1 cup bell pepper, diced (any color)
1 small onion, diced
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 cup ricotta cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the spicy Italian sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
Add the diced bell pepper and onion to the skillet with the cooked sausage. Sauté for another 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the mozzarella cheese, ricotta cheese, Italian seasoning, and crushed red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.
Open the crescent roll dough packages. Unroll the dough and separate it into triangles.
On a prepared baking sheet, arrange the triangles in a ring shape, overlapping the edges to form a circle.
