These delightful little sausages are not just a snack; they are a celebration of flavor that combines sweet and savory elements, making them an ideal choice for game day appetizers, festive holiday gatherings, or casual get-togethers.
Ingredients
Scale:
1/2 cup honey
1/4 cup Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
2 packages (14 ounces each) of cocktail sausages
1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for sautéing)
Instructions
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the honey, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Whisk together until smooth and well-blended. Set aside.
For sautéing, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the Lil Smokies and cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are browned and heated through.
For slow cooking, add the cocktail sausages to the slow cooker, pour the honey mustard sauce over them, and cook on low for 3-4 hours or on high for 1.5-2 hours.
If you sautéed the sausages, remove them from the heat and add the honey mustard sauce to the skillet. Stir well to coat each sausage thoroughly.
Transfer the coated Lil Smokies to a serving platter. Optionally, garnish with chopped parsley or a drizzle of additional honey.
