This dish combines the savory goodness of pork with the sweet depth of brown sugar, creating a delightful balance that will have your family eagerly gathering around the dinner table.
Ingredients
Scale:
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 boneless pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
Sliced green onions for garnish
Sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels and rub the seasoning mixture all over the pork chops.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, sear the pork chops for about 2-3 minutes per side until they are golden brown.
Transfer the seared pork chops to the slow cooker. In the same skillet, combine the soy sauce and apple cider vinegar, and pour this mixture over the pork chops in the slow cooker.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
Once cooked, carefully remove the pork chops from the slow cooker and set them aside. If desired, thicken the sauce by transferring it to a saucepan and simmering it for 10 minutes on medium heat.
Serve the pork chops drizzled with the sauce, and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds if using.
