Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound ground beef
1/2 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup milk
1 large egg
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 medium onion, sliced
8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
2 cups beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.
Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until the meatballs are cooked through and browned. They should reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
While the meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and mushrooms, cooking until the onions are translucent and the mushrooms are golden brown, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, bringing the mixture to a simmer. In a small bowl, mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry. Gradually add the slurry to the gravy, stirring constantly until it thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
Once the meatballs are done baking, gently add them to the skillet with the gravy. Allow them to simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes, ensuring the meatballs are well coated and warmed through.
