Ingredients
Scale:
20 large button mushrooms, cleaned and stems removed
1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably Italian seasoned)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup cream cheese, softened
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional)
Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, cream cheese, minced garlic, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, black pepper, and olive oil. Mix until well combined. The mixture should be creamy and well-seasoned.
Take the cleaned mushrooms and carefully remove the stems, creating a hollow space for the stuffing. Finely chop the mushroom stems and add them to the filling mixture.
Using a spoon or your hands, fill each mushroom cap generously with the stuffing mixture. Press down gently to ensure the stuffing holds together.
Arrange the st■ mushrooms on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them evenly.
If desired, sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the st■ mushrooms for an extra cheesy layer.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the mushrooms are tender and the tops are golden brown.
Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
