A comforting meal that can be prepared with minimal effort but delivers maximum flavor. Packed with juicy beef and a creamy sauce, this dish combines simplicity and satisfaction.
Ingredients
Scale:
1.5 pounds of tender steak (flank steak or sirloin)
1 medium onion, sliced thinly
1 cup sour cream
1 packet of onion soup mix
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Trim any excess fat from the steak and cut it into bite-sized pieces.
In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a tablespoon of oil. Once hot, add the steak pieces and sear them until browned on all sides, about 3-4 minutes.
Once the steak is seared, add the sliced onions to the skillet and cook until they become translucent, about 5 minutes.
In a medium bowl, combine the sour cream and onion soup mix. Stir until well blended.
In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, layer the seared steak and onions, then pour the sour cream mixture over the top.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the top is bubbly and slightly golden.
Once out of the oven, let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
