Ingredients
Scale:
1 cup white rice (preferably short-grain for creaminess)
½ cup granulated sugar
½ teaspoon salt
4 cups milk (or dairy-free alternative such as almond milk)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Cinnamon or nutmeg for sprinkling (optional)
Raisins or other dried fruits (optional)
Fresh fruit or whipped cream for serving (optional)
Chopped nuts for a crunchy finish (optional)
Instructions
Rinse 1 cup of white rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
In your slow cooker, combine the rinsed rice, ½ cup of granulated sugar, and ½ teaspoon of salt. Stir gently to ensure even distribution.
Pour in 4 cups of milk and add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the rice mixture. Stir to combine.
Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 4 to 5 hours. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Check the pudding's consistency and add more milk if it becomes too thick.
Once cooked, let the pudding cool slightly before serving.
Serve warm or chilled, garnished with cinnamon or nutmeg, raisins, or your favorite toppings.
