Ingredients
Scale:
1 lb (450g) flank steak or sirloin, thinly sliced against the grain
1 tablespoon olive oil, preferably extra virgin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Salt and black pepper, to taste
1 large green bell pepper, sliced into strips
1 large red bell pepper, sliced
1 large onion, sliced into rings
8 ounces (225g) provolone or Cheez Whiz, or a blend of both
4 hoagie rolls or French baguettes, lightly toasted
Optional toppings: ketchup, mustard, or hot sauce
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Let the beef sit for about 10 minutes.
Spread the seasoned beef evenly across a large sheet pan.
Scatter the sliced bell peppers and onion over the beef.
Place the sheet pan in the preheated oven and roast for about 15-20 minutes, or until the beef is cooked through and the vegetables are tender.
Remove the pan from the oven, sprinkle cheese over the beef and veggies, and return for an additional 5 minutes until melted.
Scoop the beef and vegetable mixture onto the hoagie rolls.
Enjoy the sandwiches warm, adding any desired toppings.
