Philly Cheesesteak St■ Peppers are a delightful twist on the classic Philadelphia cheesesteak, combining all the beloved flavors of this iconic sandwich into a nutritious, low-carb option.
Ingredients
Scale:
4 large bell peppers (any color)
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Extra cheese for topping (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Slice the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds and membranes. Rinse them under cold water and set aside to drain.
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Add the chopped onions and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onions are translucent.
Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and black pepper. Cook for another 2 minutes to blend the flavors.
Remove the skillet from heat and fold in the shredded provolone cheese until it’s well incorporated.
Carefully spoon the beef and cheese mixture into each prepared bell pepper, packing it tightly.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the peppers are tender.
