These sweet, nutty bars blend the rich flavors of toasted pecans with a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth crust, making them a perfect addition to any gathering or a cozy night in.
Ingredients
Scale:
For the crust:
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/4 teaspoon salt
For the filling:
2 cups pecans, chopped
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
3 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a medium mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt. Mix well and add softened butter, blending until crumbly. Press mixture into the bottom of a greased 8x8-inch baking pan.
Bake crust for 15 minutes, until slightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool slightly.
In a large bowl, whisk together brown sugar, corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans and salt.
Pour filling mixture over the pre-baked crust and spread evenly. Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes, until filling is set and golden brown.
Let cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for at least an hour before cutting into squares.
