Instructions
Prepare the pan: Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal later.
Melt the butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter in 30-second increments, stirring in between until fully melted.
Mix the base: Once the butter is melted, stir in the creamy peanut butter until well combined.
Add dry ingredients: Gradually sift in the cocoa powder and powdered sugar, mixing thoroughly until no lumps remain.
Add vanilla: Stir in the vanilla extract for added flavor.
Spread the mixture: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top evenly.
Add toppings: If desired, sprinkle chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or a pinch of sea salt on top of the fudge mixture.
Chill: Place the dish in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm and set.
Slice and serve: Once set, lift the fudge out of the pan using the parchment paper overhang and cut into squares.
