  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  4. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the beef. Sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  5. Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
  6. In a medium bowl, combine the cottage cheese, sour cream, and 2 cups of mozzarella cheese. Mix until well blended.
  7. In a large bowl, combine the cooked spaghetti with the meat sauce. Layer half of this mixture in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  8. Spread the cheese mixture evenly over the spaghetti layer. Top with the remaining spaghetti mixture.
  9. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
  10. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  11. Let the casserole cool for about 10 minutes before slicing.
