A timeless recipe passed down through generations, blending rich flavors and love for a comforting dish.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 lb ground beef
1/2 lb ground pork
1 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 large egg
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
2 cups marinara sauce
1/2 cup chopped onions
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp Italian herbs (optional)
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic, egg, salt, pepper, oregano, and basil. Mix thoroughly without overmixing.
Shape the mixture into meatballs about the size of a golf ball and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.
While the meatballs are baking, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and sauté until translucent.
Pour in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Once the meatballs are done, add them to the skillet with the sauce. Stir gently to coat and let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes.
Serve the meatballs over spaghetti or enjoy them on their own.
