Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
  3. Once the yeast mixture is frothy, add it to the flour mixture along with the melted butter and egg. Mix until the dough starts to come together.
  4. Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. The dough should be slightly tacky but not sticky.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  6. While the dough is rising, cook the bacon until crispy. Drain on paper towels and chop into small pieces. Mix the bacon with the cheese and green onions in a bowl.
  7. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about ½ inch thick. Spread the bacon and cheese mixture evenly over the dough.
  8. Starting from one short end, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal it, then cut the log into 12 equal pieces.
  9. Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise for another 30 minutes until puffy.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown on top.
  11. Allow the rolls to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy them warm for the best flavor!
