Comfort food takes on a new and exciting twist with this Creamy Philly Cheesesteak Pasta. This dish combines the beloved flavors of a classic Philly cheesesteak with the satisfying texture of pasta, creating a meal that's not only hearty but also incredibly indulgent.
Ingredients
Scale:
12 ounces penne or rotini pasta
1 pound ribeye steak, thinly sliced
1 medium onion, diced
1 bell pepper (any color), sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup shredded provolone cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Drain and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water for later use if needed.
In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add the diced onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until they begin to soften and turn translucent. Add the sliced bell pepper and minced garlic, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are tender and fragrant, with a vibrant color.
Push the vegetables to one side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced ribeye steak to the other side. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the steak is browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Mix the steak and vegetables together in the skillet, ensuring everything is well combined.
Reduce the heat to low. Pour in the heavy cream and stir well to combine with the steak and vegetables. Add Worcestershire sauce and gradually mix in the provolone and Parmesan cheese, stirring until the cheese is melted and the sauce is creamy and velvety. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as needed to balance the flavors.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet and toss everything together until the pasta is evenly coated with the creamy cheese sauce. Allow to cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through, and if the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
Remove from heat and let it sit for a minute. Serve warm, garnished with additional cheese if desired, for an extra touch of indulgence.
