Ingredients
Scale:
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
1 cup brown sugar, packed tightly
½ cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs, ideally at room temperature
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 cup chocolate chips (semisweet or dark, according to preference)
1 cup chopped pecans, roughly chopped
1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped pecans.
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
Using your thumb, create a small indentation in the center of each cookie and fill with caramel sauce.
Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
