2 cups granulated sugar
½ cup cocoa powder, preferably unsweetened
2 cups mini marshmallows
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
½ cup unsalted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans) for topping
Chocolate chips (semi-sweet or dark) for topping
Sea salt for sprinkling
Instructions
Prepare an 8-inch square baking dish by lining it with parchment paper.
In a medium saucepan, combine the unsalted butter and the sweetened condensed milk over low heat. Stir gently until the butter has melted completely.
Add the granulated sugar and cocoa powder to the melted mixture. Stir continuously until well combined and begins to thicken, about 5 minutes.
Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in the mini marshmallows and vanilla extract until melted and creamy.
Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle chopped nuts, chocolate chips, or sea salt on top if desired.
Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for about 2 hours or refrigerate for quicker setting.
Once set, lift the fudge out of the dish using the parchment overhang and cut into squares.
