Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound of lean ground beef
1/2 cup of breadcrumbs (for a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs)
1/4 cup of finely chopped onions
1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
1 large egg
1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon of ketchup for a touch of sweetness
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup of cream cheese for extra creaminess
1/2 cup of marinara sauce
Additional shredded cheese for topping
Chopped fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with breadcrumbs, chopped onions, Parmesan cheese, egg, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until ingredients are well incorporated.
Divide the beef mixture into equal portions, about 1/3 cup each. Flatten each portion into a disc approximately 1/2-inch thick.
Place a generous pinch of shredded cheddar cheese in the center of each beef disc. Carefully fold the meat over the cheese, rolling into a ball, then flatten slightly to form patties.
Arrange the patties on the prepared baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the patties are cooked through and the cheese is melted.
If desired, during the last 5 minutes of baking, spoon a bit of marinara sauce over each patty and sprinkle with additional cheese. Return to oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Once baked, remove the patties from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped fresh parsley and serve warm.
