If you’re looking for a dish that combines comfort and flavor, look no further than the Cheesy Hamburger Potato Casserole. This hearty casserole is the epitome of comfort food, perfect for weeknight dinners or feeding a crowd.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound ground beef
4 medium potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
1 medium onion, diced
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 cup crushed cornflakes (optional)
2 tablespoons butter, melted (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef along with the diced onion. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess fat.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked beef and onion mixture with the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Stir until well mixed.
In a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes at the bottom. Pour half of the beef mixture over the potatoes, then sprinkle with half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, beef mixture, and cheese.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
After 45 minutes, remove the foil. If using, mix the crushed cornflakes with melted butter and sprinkle over the casserole. Bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes.
Allow the casserole to cool for about 5 minutes before serving.
