Ingredients
Scale:
1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free flour for a gluten-free version)
1 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup chocolate chips or nuts (optional)
Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan with cooking spray or line it with parchment paper.
In a medium bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
In a separate large bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and well blended.
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
If desired, fold in chocolate chips or nuts.
Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Once baked, remove the brownies from the oven and let them cool in the pan before slicing.
