  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, cream, vanilla extract, and melted butter until fully incorporated.
  4. Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes, ensuring each piece is thoroughly soaked. If adding raisins, scatter them evenly.
  5. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the custard.
