Ingredients
Scale:
1 pound ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
8 ounces egg noodles
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 cup beef broth or water
Additional shredded cheese (optional)
Chopped green onions or parsley for garnish
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the egg noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if necessary.
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet with the browned beef. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in the tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let this mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked egg noodles, beef mixture, sour cream, and beef broth. Mix until all ingredients are well incorporated.
Transfer the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Spread evenly and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley before serving.
