Beef and Macaroni Casserole is a classic comfort food dish that has won the hearts of many families over the years. Combining the savory flavors of ground beef, tender pasta, and a rich, creamy sauce, this dish is not only hearty but also incredibly satisfying.
Ingredients
Scale:
1 lb ground beef
2 cups elbow macaroni
1 small onion, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 cup beef broth
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Salt and pepper to taste
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it's ready for baking.
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the elbow macaroni until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. Cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the chopped onion and minced garlic. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
Pour in the tomato sauce and beef broth. Add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked macaroni with the beef mixture. Stir in 1 ½ cups of the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
Pour the mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish, spreading it evenly.
Sprinkle the remaining ½ cup of cheddar cheese on top of the casserole.
Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
