A quick and comforting meal that combines tender chicken and vibrant broccoli in a creamy cheese sauce, made with only six main ingredients.
Ingredients
Scale:
2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
4 cups fresh broccoli florets
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 can (10.5 oz) cream of chicken soup
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
Prepare the Chicken: Place the boneless, skinless chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker. Season them lightly with salt and pepper. Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer for even cooking.
Mix the Sauce: In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup, milk, garlic powder, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until well blended.
Combine Ingredients: Pour the creamy mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker, ensuring the chicken is evenly coated.
Add Broccoli: Gently add the fresh broccoli florets on top of the chicken and sauce mixture, pressing them slightly down into the sauce.
Cook: Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 6 to 7 hours or on high for 3 to 4 hours. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
Add Cheese: About 30 minutes before serving, sprinkle the remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the top and cover until melted.
Serve: Once the cheese is melted and bubbly, stir everything together gently before serving.
