This dish combines tender, juicy chicken with the savory flavors of stuffing, all cooked together in the slow cooker for maximum flavor and minimal effort.
1 box (about 6-8 ounces) of your favorite stuffing mix (chicken or savory blend)
1 can (10.5 ounces) of cream of chicken soup
1 cup of chicken broth (or water, if preferred)
Instructions
Start by placing the chicken breasts at the bottom of the slow cooker. Ensure they are arranged in a single layer for even cooking.
In a mixing bowl, combine the cream of chicken soup and chicken broth. Stir well until fully blended. This will be the base that adds moisture and flavor to the chicken.
Pour the soup mixture over the chicken breasts, making sure to coat them evenly. The mixture will help to keep the chicken moist and infuse it with savory flavors.
Sprinkle the stuffing mix evenly over the chicken and soup mixture. Avoid stirring; simply let the stuffing sit on top. This allows it to steam and absorb the delicious juices from the chicken as it cooks.
Cover the slow cooker with its lid and set it to low heat. Cook for approximately 4-6 hours. If using high heat, cook for about 2-3 hours. The chicken should be fully cooked and easily shredded with a fork.
Once cooked, check the stuffing for moisture. If it seems dry, you can add a little more chicken broth over the stuffing. Let it sit for an additional 10 minutes with the lid on to allow it to absorb more moisture.
Before serving, shred the chicken directly in the slow cooker using two forks, and mix it with the stuffing to combine the flavors.
