Buttered Sweet Peas

A simple and flavorful side dish made with fresh or frozen sweet peas, butter, and salt.

  1. If using fresh peas, shell them and rinse under cold water. For frozen peas, simply measure out the required amount and set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, bring about 1 inch of water to a boil. Add the peas to the boiling water, cover the pot, and steam for about 3-5 minutes for fresh peas or 2-3 minutes for frozen peas, until tender and bright green.
  3. Once cooked, drain the peas in a colander and return them to the saucepan.
  4. Place the saucepan back on low heat. Add the butter and salt to the peas. Stir gently until the butter melts and coats the peas evenly, which should take about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Once everything is mixed well and heated through, transfer the buttered sweet peas to a serving dish and enjoy while warm.
