CLEANING YOUR OVEN – The easiest way EVER!

If you have a self-cleaning oven but are struggling to get the window clean, there’s an easy way to clean your oven without using harsh chemicals or scrubbing for hours. Here’s how to do it:

Start by preheating your oven to 150 degrees Fahrenheit (or the lowest temperature setting available). While the oven is heating up, boil a pot of water. Once the oven has reached 150 degrees, turn it off and place a heat-safe bowl or baking dish containing 1 cup of ammonia on the top rack. Put the pot of boiling water on the bottom rack of the oven, then close the oven door and leave them both in the oven overnight.

The next morning, remove the bowl of ammonia and pot of water from the oven. Keep the ammonia – you’ll need it later. Take out the racks and leave the oven door open to air out for 15 minutes. Add 1-2 teaspoons of dishwashing liquid to the ammonia, along with 4 cups of warm water. Dip a heavy-duty nylon scrubbing pad into the ammonia mixture and begin to wipe away the softened grease and grime along the sides and bottom of the oven.

This should be a relatively easy job at this point. However, it’s important to wear kitchen gloves since ammonia can be caustic to the skin. Finally, rinse or wipe clean with a damp cloth and your oven should be sparkling clean.

This cleaning method is a simple and effective way to clean your oven without using harsh chemicals or scrubbing for hours. Give it a try and see the results for yourself
